A Customer Review "Sleek and technically stylish" First off let me start by saying it's 6am here i cant sleep. Ive been up messing with all the features of the nextel i850. I just got my phone in the mail yesterday morning, and iam still tickled pink about it. I first signed up with nextel in July of 2005. At that time they had a huge promotion with the i730. The sales rep said it was a [...] phone that nextel was giving away for $[...] with the leather case and car charger. So i brought in without doing prior research to the phone. After agreeing i decided to look around online and read some Amazon.com reviews. From the pictures and reviews i thought i was in the Clear and would be impressed. Well the phone arrived a few days later, DHL delivered it in a Huge yellow box. Threw the plastic on the front you could see the phone and my first thought was it's alittle bigger than i thought it was going to be....But ok rip the box open, take it out. Next thought was whoa, this is alot heavier than most phones . Although nextel's motorolas have always had reputions for being clunkers. Next thing i did was flip it open, and i was not happy with the tiny screen. Ive seen worst but the screen was way to small, for such a big body of a phone. At this time my brother walked in and said " new phone"? At this point i was powering it up, the screen loaded and the Wall paper backround had some Cartoonish looking sail boats, with wind gusting threw their sails, and my brother laughed at the fact that the Display looked like a Cartoon drawn out by a 7 year old with blue and yellow crayons. Out of the 8 months i used it, the one thing i can say i loved about the i730 was it was a tank. I droped it so many times , and the phone still is in excellent condition. But on the down side, the phone dropped calls daily. On top of dropping calls, the talk " Green" button to aceept the call, was messed up and would reject calls when i tried to answer them. Which was very frustrating due to the face i was on a free incomming call plan. I called nextel about a week ago, heated beyond belief. After a 3 hour drive the phone dropped about 10 calls. I was very upset and called nextel with the intention to pay off the 200 departure fee, and call it quits. When the Service rep conviced me to stick with nextel, and talked me into buying a i850....This woman was the most charming woman ive ever spoke to because iam hard pressed when i have my mind set on something, i was shocked that she was able to get me to buy another phone. $$[...] later, and one day later, no lie the next morning, nextel had overnighted me the i850. I was very very impressed, they also gave me a leather case, car charger, and hip thing to holseter the phone around. Now i turn on the i850, wow....The LCD Display is The sharpest ive ever seen, hands down. I mean i was blown away. Overall, this phone is hands down the best cell ive ever used. Everything from the style, to the features. Usually with cell phones, the better looking, the more problems( Atleast with my past experience ), and this proves that theory wrong. Dont judge the pictures on amazon because the way amazon has the photos set up the phone looks very " Average", you have to see to believe with the i850. The i850 made me a nextel believer, i can not tell you how much i love it. The Screen is so bright and chrisp, the camera, is so-so, but is decent. And the body of the phone is made with a metel/ that is fantastic. Since ive got this phone ive recieved several compliments about it's look. Trust me, if your about to be new to nextel, or a nextel customer looking for a upgrade from an older phone. Look no further, i promise you that you'll be blown away as i was.
