| A Customer Review
"Coolness vs. features..." I got this phone on a temporary basis, as my old phone broke and I couldn't get a better one through Verizon's "new every two" program for several months yet. As a temporary replacement, it's fine, but I wouldn't suggest it for long-term use. First, the coolness factor is definitely in the 630's favor. It actually can flip open with a flick of your wrist, and the antenna is internal, so it has the old-style Star Trek communicator look going. You can also slide in your pocket without worrying about an antenna getting broken off when you sit down (done that, too). It's a neat little phone. However, reception is not particularly good (probably because of the internal antenna), it's not nearly loud enough, and there's not a single "phone-sounding" ringtone. It is very annoying to have to carefully position the phone on your ear so that you can actually hear the person to whom you're talking, and even then, you have to be careful how you hold it, or you'll cover the internal antenna, and the call will cut out. The ringer isn't nearly loud enough, and that really ticks me off. My wife was in a car crash (she's fine), and tried to call me from the side of the freeway. I was in one room, this phone was in the next room, and I never heard it ring. I could hear my old Motorola from the other side of the house, and I can't hear this one in the next room. Part of the problem is that there isn't a really annoying, loud, phone-style ringtone. It's got a lot of "melodies," but you can't hear them well, either. ^M
